In a record-breaking time, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale managed to raise a whooping Ksh 21 Million in an hour-long fundraising event.
The function which was held at the White Star Restaurant had been organised by local leaders from Garissa, friends, family, and relatives of the ailing former CEC Idris Mukhtar.
While presiding over the function, Duale assured the congregation that the matter surrounding the mysterious shooting of the CEC would be finalised in a few days time and that the real masterminds will never go unpunished.
"I can assure you that all those behind the incident will soon be brought to book. Nobody will go unpunished irrespective of the position held," assured Duale.
The sentiments come at a time when one of the persons linked to the shooting, Governor Korane, skipped the event to host a delegation of clan elders.
Incidentally, the governor also canceled a cheque meant for the ailing CEC Idris under unclear circumstances.
