Gedi says that the ongoing debate is not healthy and is likely to hinder the realisation of development.

Speaking on Sunday when she launched a free medical camp for persons living with disabilities at Township Primary School in Wajir Town, Gedi said that it is too early for politicians to engage in 2022 succession politics.

The Wajir MP pleaded with elected leaders across the divide to shelve the debate and work for Kenyans.

"It is early to engage in campaigns or debate and elected leaders should seize this opportunity to work for Kenyans," the vocal Wajir lawmaker said.

Gedi said that there are serious issues facing Kenyans that elected leaders need to address.

She asked Kenyans to demand services from their elected leaders moving forward.

Gedi pledged to spearhead development for Wajir residents.

She urged the Wajir county government to fast-track service delivery to locals especially on health, security, and education.

The MP also urged elected leaders in Wajir to unite and work for the residents.

The 2022 succession debate involving politicians across the divide has intensified with four years remaining to the much anticipated 2022 general election.
