The football fraternity is mourning the death of immediate former Thika United skipper Dennis Lewa.
Lewa was among the 55 passengers who perished Wednesday morning at Fort Ternan road, after a bus in which they were traveling in rolled several times, taking away the lives of almost all the passengers on board.
Lewa is said to have been traveling to Kakamega to complete a move to Kenyan Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz.
He sought the move after his team, Thika, was relegated to the second division, after a poor season at the Kenya Premier League.
It’s further alleged that the ill-fated bus belonged to Kakamega Homeboyz owner Cleophas Shimanyula aka Toto, who has since been apprehended by the police.
The bus was reportedly overloaded and speeding, with the accident leaving many families mourning.
