Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has told off a section of Kikuyu and Kalenjin elders who are reported to be seeking to negotiate 2022 political deal saying Luhyas could not be cheated again.
Speaking at a funeral of Elam Ngase, a former personal assistant to the late Moses Mudamba Mudavadi in Ikolomani Kakamega county on Sunday, Khalwale noted that he was in the forefront during campaigns for Mudavadi's presidency in the run-up to 2013 elections and recounted how Kikuyu Council of Elders promised Mudavadi votes in 2013 only to betray them and vote for president Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I was in the forefront walking with my agemate brother, Musalia Mudavadi. Then we went to the Kikuyu council of elders who promise to vote for Mudavadi. We went to Marakwet, where Kalenjins vowed to vote for our candidate. Atwoli promised to support us. Mudavadi is here. He can attest to whether I am lying or not," noted Khalwale in a video shared on Facebook.
The former legislator further wondered why Mudavadi never got a single vote in the constituency where Jeremiah Kioni comes from 2013, despite him being his running mate.
"You Kikuyu elders cannot come to cheat us here, what you are saying here you cannot say back there at home," insisted the former Ikolomani MP.
He was responding to a group of Kalenjin and Kikuyu elders who had spoken at the burial declaring their support for the Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader who has expressed interest for the top seat in the 2022 general elections.
