Governor Ali Korane is set to appear before the Senate Accounting committee to answer integrity questions over alleged misappropriation of funds in the county.

Korane who has a date with the committee today, Monday 27th August 2018  is expected to explain on why the county has recorded zero developments despite being allocated development funds by the treasury.

Whilst the governor was in office during the 2017/2018 audit, he is by virtue of his current portfolio appearing before the Senate's PAC to answer the said queries on behalf of the County Government of Garissa as obligated by the laws of the country.

The Clerk to the County Assembly of Garissa is also appearing before the same committee to respond to queries captured in the Auditor General's report during the same financial year.

In his early August report, the auditor general listed Garissa among other counties as having spent a lot of monies on local travels at the expense of development.
