The failure of most of the top performers in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination candidates to enrol for their courses of choice has not augured well with parents.

The parents are now pushing for the remarking of Biology scripts, which they believe is the reason behind their children’s woes.

The parents believe that the outcome their children got from the examination doesn’t reflect their level of intelligence in any way.

They are hoping for remarking to enable their children to get chances in medical schools so that they can pursue their dream careers. It required that a student must get a grade of B before he or she can enrol in the medical school.

Parents of students who sat for their KCSE in top schools including Precious Blood Riruta, Alliance Girls and Kabarak High School are not convinced that their children posted such poor performances in biology.

The chairman of both KNEC and KMPDB George Magoha has dismissed the parents’ request. He has maintained that the marking was fair and nothing is likely to change.

“What makes them think the results would change even a bit? It will never change. I am challenging them to bring it on,” Magoha said, as quoted by Standard.
