The Council of Governors (CoG) will from Tuesday, September 25, hold the 2nd Devolution Sensitisation Week in Mombasa County.
The four-day event to be held at Makadara grounds will see 14 Council of Governors' Technical Committees engage with members of the public on devolved functions and the progress made by the 47 County governments so far.
Participants will also be able to engage with representatives from the all the 47 county administration.
During a courtesy call to the Office of Mombasa County Governor on Thursday last week, the chairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice - Ombudsman, Florence Kajuju, confirmed they will participate in the event.
While meeting Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi, CAJ delegation centred their discussions on improving public administration in the county government besides deliberating on how to enhance transparency and accountability in public service to curb any forms of abuse of office.
Mombasa being one of the few counties that have a functional office of the county Ombudsman, the team also explored modalities of partnering with the national office in building the capacity of CAJ's county staff to enable them deliver on their mandate effectively.
