A businesswoman was on Thursday found killed in her house and Sh300, 000 place beside her body.
The incident which occurred in Kiamaina, on the border of Nakuru and Laikipia Counties, left residents shocked and in fear.
According to area chief, Stephen Maingi, he received reports that the woman had not been receiving calls since Monday and decided to launch investigations.
Together with Nyumba Kumi officials, Maingi forced their way into her house and found the deceased’s body.
“She has been missing for some time and we decided to launch an investigation on her whereabouts. We later found her dead in her house and called the police who came and took the body to the mortuary.
Mystery surrounds the murder as nothing was stolen from the house,” Maingi said.
Macharia Kahweni, the chairman of community policing in Kiamaina, said the murder was unusual as robbers could not stuff the money beside the body.
“We found the body lying on the bed in her own house three days after she went missing. This is not a normal robbery incident as sh300, 000 was found beside her. If it were robbers they would have taken the cash,” Macharia said.
He called on detectives to unravel the murder.
However, the resident hailed the community policing in the area saying they have not had insecurity issues.
“We are shocked by this incident as there have not been insecurity issues,” Wangari Kihiko, a resident said.
