Speaking Friday during a prayer and Thanksgiving Day at Ilmolelian Model Primary school in Narok North Sub County, Chief Administrative Secretary Ministry of interior and National Coordination Patrick Ole Ntutu said the government will not sit down and watch as the lives of innocent school children are messed up.

Ole Ntutu gave the local administrators and security agents in Narok 4 days ultimatum to ensure the culprits are brought to book.

“It is saddening that kids are dropping out of schools because of the early pregnancies in Narok, therefore, direct the administrators to ensure by Monday the 24 men who impregnated the girls are arrested,” said Ole Ntutu.

The CAS was responding to sentiments made by area Chief Beatrice Koilah on how early pregnancies have affected the girls in the area forcing them to drop out of school.

Narok County is among the counties leading in early pregnancies and school dropouts.

He added that it was a shame for such to happen yet the government was working hard to ensure there is a conducive environment for learning in schools.

“The President and his deputy are on the forefront in ensuring that the schools are constructed and it is, therefore, a shame to hear that girls here in Narok are out of schools because of early pregnancies, that one we will not tolerate,” he said.

On the welfare of schools in the country, the CAS said the government’s last mile electricity connectivity will see the remaining schools in Narok County and across the country also connected to ensure quality education.

He called on the area chiefs to ensure that they submit the names of the schools yet to be connected.

“The government is committed to ensuring that by next year all schools are connected and therefore I call on chiefs to ensure they submit names of such schools,” said Ole Ntutu.

Others who spoke at the function included Education Director Elijah Mungai who also represented the PS Dr.Belio Kipsang, Rebecca Tonke-who contested the Narok County Woman Rep seat, CEC Tourism Narok County, area MCA Samuel Ole Karia.

Others were Headteacher Ilmolelian Model Primary Robert Ole Naingisa, Board of Education Chair in Narok North Henry Pasiany, and Frank Kimbelekenya from National Land commission among others.
