Citizen TV anchor Jacque Maribe now claims that her fiance, Joseph Irungu at some point made her panic when he repeatedly said 'I love you, am sorry'.
In her affidavits, Maribe, who took plea over Monica Kimani's murder, dismembered police reports that she was in company of Irungu alias Jowie when the business woman died.
"He was repeatedly saying 'I love you. I am sorry.' I panicked and ran back into my bedroom for my phone," she said.
"I left the house and ran outside towards Brian Kassaine's house where I found him lying down," she said, adding that Irungu had left her house.
Earlier, Maribe said, Irungu had stormed their house citing the ' I love you, am sorry' words before shooting himself.
Ms. Maribe, in the company of Brian Kassaine and his wife Cate, rushed Irungu to several health facilities for medication.
The two are facing murder charges which they have since denied in court and are expected to apply bail on Wednesday.
Before that, Maribe's father Mwangi Maribe, insisted that her daughter was 'guilty of love but not murder'.
Ms. Kimani's lifeless body was found in a bathtub at her Kilimani apartments on September 20th.
