Police officers in Borabu are holding a middle aged man who assaulted his neighbor's wife on Saturday evening.
It is alleged that the man, John Omwansa has been in an illicit love affair with Mary Kemunto for the past 2 years.
Confirming the incident area police boss Michael Lesmum said Omwansa found Kemunto returning home from a water spring when he attacked her.
"Omwansa attacked Kemunto on grounds that she had denied him sex for 2 years they have been in a relationship. Kemunto raised alarm to attracted members of the public who arrived at the scene," he said.
The police boss said Omwansa was roughed up by angry locals before Nyumba Kumi officials rescued him.
He said upon questioning the suspect, he revealed that Kemunto who is married has been his secret lover.
"Kemunto has been tricking Omwansa after they entered into a relationship. The suspect has been giving Kemunto money promising that she will sleep with him but, when Kemunto told him it was over he got angered and attacked her," he noted.
