Responding to the ruling by the tribunal, the legislator expressed her happiness and satisfaction following the dismissal of the disciplinary actions imposed on her by the Orange party.

The outspoken MP also thanked her team of lawyers led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.

"I thank God for this victory! I wish to take this opportunity to recognise the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal for upholding the law and for rendering justice not only to me but to the people of Malindi. Special thanks to my legal team led by Senator Kipchumba Murkomen," read a  tweet by Jumwa.

In March, ODM delegates voted to expel Jumwa from the party due to her support of Deputy President William Ruto as well as his 2022 presidential bid.

Jumwa, however, filed a petition at the tribunal and was handed reprieve on Friday after the tribunal ruled she remains a member of ODM.

"The tribunal hereby declares that the proceedings violated Article 47 of the constitution ... were unprocedural and violated provisions of the Political Parties Act, Fair Administrative Action Act and Article 8.4.2 of the ODM,” the tribunal said.
