The battle of supremacy between Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto escalated on Sunday with each side firing salvos against each other over the current fight against corruption.
In a tweet, Deputy President William Ruto accused Mr Odinga of linking him to graft with the vehicle he had donated to Archbishop Philip Anyolo in December taking center stage.
"The master of deceit is spewing desperate lies. The car gift was bought by Christian leaders including Uhuru Kenyatta and myself upon the request of Catholic MPs. Understandably, empowering the church offends the magicians and the evil spirits they worship," he wrote.
On Saturday, Raila sensationally claimed that the gift had been rejected by Catholic church, saying that it questioned the origin of the money used to buy it.
NASA Chief Executive Officer Norman Magaya hit at the DP, accusing him of engaging in illicit activities which amounts to witchcraft, a response to Ruto's tweet.
"William Ruto must know that the real magician is one who procures towels, tiles, bread etc in a contract for construction of dams. A real magician is one who grabs a school play field, grabs KCAA land and displaces an IDP," he tweeted.
He added: "Having been cornered in scandals against his own people Re NCPB scandal, fertilizer scandal & Arrow & kamwarer dams scandal, William Ruto now hopes he can turn @RailaOdinga into a bogeyman & use it as a tool to rally the Rift Valley. This won't work. We won't allow."
The past two days have seen sharp exchanges between Mr Odinga and the DP, with Ruto accusing him of using the handshake to break Jubilee Party from within.
