Speaking on Citizen TV’s Day Break show on Thursday morning, Khalwale accused Raila of insincerity to the party following his March 9 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Jubilee Party.

He said that the expulsion should follow the looming one targeting Msambweni lawmaker Suleiman Dori and his Kilifi counterpart Aisha Jumwa who are accused of associating with Deputy President William Ruto.

“If ODM wants us to believe them then as they expel these two MPs for associating with Ruto then they should also expel Raila for associating with Uhuru,” he was quoted by the Citizen Digital.

Dori and Jumwa have since been found guilty of gross misconduct by the party disciplinary committee which on Tuesday approved their expulsion during a National Executive Council meeting in Nairobi.

On Wednesday, Dori led a group of coast lawmakers to meet Raila at his offices in Nairobi, in what Khalwale says is an attempt to save himself.

The two have repeatedly been seen attending Ruto’s events and even endorsing his presidential bid in the approaching 2022 general elections, one which is likely to include Raila.
