Rarieda lawmaker Otiende Amollo on Saturday played host to a number of national leaders in his constituency for a fundraiser.
The fundraiser was attended by among others, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong' and Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange.
The three leaders joined hands towards the establishment of the proposed Rageng'ni Girls High School in Rarieda.
In a Facebook post dated Saturday, MP Amollo said that when complete, the institution will go a long way in enhancing girl child education.
"Together with His Excellency Governor Sospeter Ojaamong', Senator James Orengo, Hon Paul Koinange (Kiambaa) among other leaders. We did the inaugural fundraiser for the establishment of Rageng'ni Girls High School," he wrote.
He added that the institution will be the fourth girl's school in the constituency and the first of its kind in the area.
"This will be the fourth girl's secondary school in Rarieda and the first of its kind within the area. The debut for the girls' school will enhance girl child education," added Amollo.
He stressed on the need for Kenyans to embrace girl education, terming it beneficial to the entire society.
A total of 2.66 million was raised in the exercise.
