Controversial Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has come out to criticize the way the government and President Uhuru Kenyatta have been fighting the graft war.
Sudi has accused the president of being biased and has even challenged him to table his wealth before Kenyans if at all he is not corrupt.
On his part, the president has asked anybody linking him to any corruption allegations to visit the offices of the DCI and DPP and report his/her claims.
The MP who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, however, says he will not report anything to the independent bodies as they are working under the instructions of the president.
According to Sudi and other believers of DP Ruto’s dreams to the presidency, all the graft wars are efforts to sabotage the self-proclaimed hustler’s presidential bid.
Although the DP has tried to avoid the 2022 succession politics and rarely replies to any corruption scandal he is linked to, Sudi’s remarks on such critical issues are very dangerous to his presidential bid.
The MP should avoid responding to such issues and stop linking them to tribalism and biases.
In my opinion, his responses to President Kenyatta will continue widening the recently witnessed rift between him (Uhuru) and Ruto after the famous 2018 handshake.
Most people will think that Sudi’s attacks directed to the president are orders from DP Ruto considering the nature of Kenyan politics. This will, in some way, affect Ruto’s 2022 bid as Uhuru’s allies and his supporters may end up crossing paths with those who are allied to him (Ruto).
