A 31-year-old woman on Monday stabbed her husband to death after she nabbed him in bed with another woman.
The incident occurred at Nyaitare village in Bosoti, Kenyenya in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief Robin Oganyo said the suspect, Rebeca Kemunto, used a kitchen knife to stab her husband, Jared Omweri.
“Kemunto picked a quarrel with Omweri after she found him with another woman in their bedroom. She later threatened to kill him for betraying her,” said the chief.
Mr Oganyo said Kemunto made good on her threat on Monday night at around 8pm when she picked a kitchen knife and stabbed Omweri in the stomach.
“Neighbors heard a commotion at Omweri’s house and rushed there only to find Omweri lying on the floor with a stab wound. He was taken to Kenyenya Sub County hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” he said.
The chief said the suspect fled the scene after neighbours arrived at the homestead.
He, however, assured residents that police have launched a manhunt for Kemunto, adding that she will be arrested and arraigned in court.
The body was taken to Nyamache Hospital mortuary.
