Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto's camp for allegedly insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

 Speaking on Tuesday when she flagged off a garbage collection exercise in Kagio town,  Waiguru said that she is not impressed by remarks that leaders have been making since Uhuru agreed to work with ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga. 

The Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary argued that President Kenyatta has not declared that he will contest for any seat after he completes his tenure in office. 

The county boss said that the head of state needs a peace of mind to fulfill the promises he made to the people of Kenya when he was seeking re-election. 

“Who told the MPs opposed to the BBI that the President is interested in getting a political seat after his term of office expires in 2022?” she posed

The governor said that the attacks launched by Tanga Tanga show the position of the second in command, adding that they are keenly watching as events turn out. 

“If a dog barks at you, then you will definitely know who its owner is,” she said.

On matter of Kirinyaga county, Waiguru said that her government has good plans for the residents of the region.  The governor said that she is dedicated to ensure Kirinyaga is one of the cleanest county in the entire nation. The divulged that her leadership has invested in garbage collection programme as she seeks to restore the lost glory of the county.

"Flagged off 13 modern garbage collection skips. This is in addition to the existing 16 skips bought last FY. We’re committed to ensuring that as Kirinyaga businesses grow & markets thrive, the environment remains clean & conducive for current & future investors, she said.
