According to Kisii county boda boda chairman Fred Nunda the motorbikes were stolen between November and December last year.

"We have been looking for the motorbikes which were stolen until when we got information from one of the suspects who was nabbed that the motorbikes were taken to Isabenia so that they can be changed number plates before being brought back to Kisii," he said.

Nunda said police officers from Isabenia helped boda boda officials from Kisii county to recover the motorbikes.

"I want to thank police officers who helped us to get the motorbikes. Stealing of motorbikes should stop," he added.

Kisii police commander Martin Kibet said three suspects are in custody.

"Three suspects who were found in possession of the motorbikes were arrested and currently helping police to hunt down other thieves," he said.

He appealed to boda boda riders to be vigilant especially at night.

"Riders should be keen so that they don't get robbed their motorbikes. Rogues riders should also be reported to police," he stated.
