The award is normally awarded by SportPesa and Sports Journalists Association Of Kenya (SJAK) to best performers of the month.
“I’m very happy to be recognised for this award and though I didn’t expect it, it’s a dream come true. The games were hard but as a team, we fought firmly and it paid off in the end,” he told said when he spoke to the media.
“I only scored two times in July and I’ve already scored more this month, so hopefully, I can get the award again before the end of the season,” Agwanda added.
Agwanda was announced the winner after garnering a total of 17 votes, beating Bandari goalie Farouk Shikhalo and teammate Tobias Omondi.
Agwanda was in imperious form in July, where he found the net 4 times; against Nzoia Sugar and Sofapaka, and assisting twice as well.
