Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary general Francis Atwoli has assured President Uhuru Kenyatta that workers were solidly behind his quest to end corruption.
He said the workforce would support the war on graft at all costs despite the hurdles on the road towards taming the monster.
Speaking on Wednesday during the 30th Pan African Trade Unions Anniversary at Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, the vocal unionist stated that President Kenyatta should push further on and ensure all culprits are dealt with as per the law.
He added that the country needs to handle the perpetrators of corruption with the needed might and determination, warning that ordinary citizens could soon look for the corrupt should the tasked entities fail to deliver.
"Workers of this country are 100% behind your fight against corruption," Atwoli assured President Kenyatta.
He, however, added that the investigating agencies should carry out a proper probe to the matters at hand given they affect the country's economy.
He observed that Kenyans want to see convictions, failure to which the citizens will take up the role and hunt the perpetrators wholeheartedly
"We need to handle these corrupt fellows and if they will not be put in prison, I can tell you that citizens are going to take it into their own hands to hunt them down," said Atwoli.
Among key leaders present was the AU Special Envoy for African Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga.
