Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has warned the assembly staff against corruption.
Elachi says that she will expose any assembly staff who engages in corruption.
Speaking to journalists at her office on Tuesday, the speaker said that she will not allow rogue staff to taint the assembly's image.
She said that those who will be implicated in corruption should be ready to face the wrath of the law.
“We are going to speak against corruption and ensure that our services and work is transparent as the county assembly,” she said.
Elachi said that there is a lot of intimidation and threats in the assembly over corruption.
“I don’t fear threats and those issuing them should know that I will go on and expose any corrupt activities,” she added.
On Monday, five Nairobi county assembly officials were charged with corruption.
The five were charged with conspiring to defraud the government an estimated Sh1 million in a dubious tender to procure books.
