A rare show of unity between politicians inclined towards deputy president William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga resurfaced on Friday in Borabu, Nyansiongo.

ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire, who served as Kitutu Masaba MP in the last parliament, demanded that that county government of Nyamira accounts for Sh20 billion disbursed from the National Treasury since 2013.

"It's six years down the line but the county government cannot account for Sh20 billion since inception of devolution. The governor should come out and show us projects," he said.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Jubilee MPs Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira) and Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), who blamed Governor John Nyagarama for standoff in the county.

"The governor should show us the projects. In my constituency, I am yet to see anything. I agree with Bosire that we need proper audit in the county," Nyamoko said.

Mrs Momanyi added: "There is need for accountability. The governor should justify using of Sh20 billion. That is what we want. DPP should come and investigate."

In the past, the Ruto allied team had been at loggerheads with Mr Bosire, an unapologetic supporter of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

This week, Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo revealed that Nyamira County only absorbed 1% of it's Sh1.95 billion allocated for development.
