As many social media users heaped praise on Maribe's father for standing with his daughter as she faces murder charges, controversial blogger and socio-political commentator Robert Alai launched into a rant against him.
According to Alai, Maribe's father does not deserve the praise he is receiving from some Kenyans as he failed to teach her daughter morals.
He contended the dad should have been stricter on her.
"This is not a father. Should have been stricter and offer proper guidance to the daughter," Alai tweeted.
Maribe's father was praised by Kenyans after footage of him trading banter with his daughter in court was widely shared online.
The renowned journalist is facing charges alongside his fiance Joseph Irungu over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani who was brutally murdered.
Joseph Irungu has denied any involvement in Monica's death, saying that he was with Maribe the night Monica was killed.
