A 35-year-old teacher died after he was hit by a speeding car.The incident happened on Wednesday evening at Nyabomite area in Nyamira County.
According to witnesses, the deceased Evans Minaro, a teacher at a local school was riding on a motorbike when he was crashed to death.
"Minaro was riding when the careless driver hit him from behind and sped off. We rushed him to Nyamira County hospital for treatment where he was pronounced death on arrival," said Nyamira South bodaboda chairman Robinson Abuga.
Mr Abuga claimed that vehicle owners doesn't value riders.
"It is unfair that cartels who own vehicles don't value riders' lives. We will protest on Thursday to push for justice to the deceased family," he added.
However, Nyamira OCS Alex Mumo said the killer driver has been nabbed.
"We have apprehended the driver and he is in custody. He must face the law for killing the Minaro," said Mumo.
He urged witnessed to record a statement so that the killer driver can be arraigned in court without delay.
The OCS warned drivers against careless driving saying police will not condone drivers who doesn't follow the set traffic rules.
