President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Prof Olive Mugenda as chairperson of Kenyatta University Hospital Board for a period of three years, reports the Nation.
In a gazette notice, the President also named Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki, Kithinji Kiragu and Gladys Ogallo to the panel.
Prof Mugenda, who served as Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor for a decade, is credited for the project which took billions of dollars to be completed.
It's part of vision 2030 projects. Despite being the mastermind of the project, Prof Mugenda was at one time criticised for hurriedly going for a loan to have it completed from China.
The Hospital is part of the government's parastatal thus the appointment of Health Minister Cecil Kariuki to sit in the newly constituted board.
Besides taking the new job, Mugenda is also serving as member of Judicial Service Commission, a position she took less than a year ago.
Last week, she complained of social media bullying after she took part in the team that recommended removal of Justice Jackton Ojwang' alleged misconduct.
Prof Mugenda has already thanked the president for the latest appointment, adding that she will work diligently to ensure that the hospital performs it's duties to the acceptable standards.
