National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Majority Leader Aden Duale, and Minority Leader have already claimed the money stating that it is legally theirs according to the Political Parties Act.

"We do not want parties to be funded by individuals or owned by a community. We want parties to be funded by the exchequer at grassroot, county, and national level. This is the spirit of the Constitution," said Duale.

ODM and Jubilee are parties qualify to get the monies from the political parties fund since they are the only political outfits that managed to secure at least five percent of the votes cast in the 2017 General elections.

However, Jubilee may pocket Sh2 billion while ODM will take home Sh1 billion if the boycotted polls of October 26, 2018, are included as required by the law.
