The woman, who was later identified as Ann O’Brien used young girls from different parts of the world to create millions in the UK. The woman, 44, reportedly started with a three girl’s escort agency alongside her husband Martin Carroll in Ireland.

The woman has since been handed a 10-year jail term for running an escort business. In 2005, a UK court convicted her of three counts of controlling prostitution.

She was, however, released with a 180-community punishment order.

The court also directed that she pays £600,000 of her fortune. She has different assets including a Kilburn High Road hairdressing salon, car and cash in her bank accounts.

Her sister, Elizabeth Muya, 48 and her husband Martin Carroll, 47 have also been accused of working closely to assist her to run the business.

“This was serious criminality that exploited many people of considerable vulnerability,” said Justice Simon Russel-Flint, QC, in his ruling.

The revelation has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. Prostitution has been on the rise on Kenya. The jailing of the woman has put other Kenyans running an illegal business in the UK on the spot.
