On February 14th, 2019 Echesa bailed out cash strapped AFC leopards by clearing accrued allowances of their players amounting to Sh2 million.

Through Kefwa Secretary-General Jerry Santo, the body urged the Cabinet Secretary to extend his hand to the rest of the teams whose players have pending allowances and salaries.

"kefwa are after equality following a recent gesture by the ministry of sports through CS to bail out AFC Leopards, We hope and urge the Cabinet Secretary to extend the gesture to the rest of the players contracted to Kenyan football clubs across the country," he said.

Kefwa also wants the ministry to clear allowances of the National women's team Harambee Starlets
