Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba has accused a section of politicians from Central Kenya of frustrating President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gathoni said elected leaders from the region who have been traversing the country with Deputy President William Ruto politicking, were undermining the Head of State who has repeatedly warned against early campaigns.
Speaking during a rally in Nyeri Town on Sunday, the former popular radio presenter said the politicians were elected on Jubilee Party ticket to be Uhuru's footsoldiers, but have now abandoned him when he needed their help in the ongoing war on graft.
“The people who are frustrating the President are the same people you elected on a Jubilee ticket. Instead of standing with the President in the war against corruption they have decided to roam around politicking,” she said.
The first-time MP was accompanied by her counterparts Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), Ruth Mwaniki (Kigumo), Maina Kamanda (Nominated) among other leaders from various parts of the country.
Gathoni was apparently referring to Tanga Tanga-Central Kenya squad which is led by Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, MPs Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Alice Wahome (Kandara) and Maragua's Mary Njoroge.
Speaking separately on the same day during a church service in Gatanga Constituency, Murang'a County, the leaders warned the anti-Ruto group against pretending to speak on behalf of the Kikuyu community.
