Muthama said the governors do not have what it takes to lead the Kamba community.

He challenged them to hold rallies in Mombasa and Maasai land to show their ability to lead the people when that time comes.

Muthama said it is evident that the leaders lack a sense of direction for pushing for the former Vice President's replacement.

He said Kibwana, Mutua and Ngilu know very well that they are not popular.

“They claim they want to be president. Who cursed these people? Who told Kivutha Kibwana, Alfred Mutua and Ngilu that becoming president is about popularity in Makueni, Kitui or Machakos,” he said.

Muthama spoke during a fundraiser at a church in Matungulu, Machakos County on Sunday.

Mutua, Kibwana and Ngilu have been lamenting that Kalonzo has proven beyond doubt that he cannot lead the people towards development.

The trio has said they will convene a meeting to determine who leads the community in the 2022 presidential race when that time comes.

Kalonzo has, however, maintained that he is the right man to contest for the presidency in 2022.
