A day before, Uhuru scolded politicians allied to Ruto's 'Tanga Tanga' team, adding that his 2022 choice for State House 'will shock many'.

“Some think I have kept quiet because I am not capable of talking politics. I am still a politician. They will be shocked when that time comes, but for now I want to concentrate on delivering my pledges to Kenyans.”

He added: "When the right time comes, I will tell people that leaders who spent most of their time dwelling on baseless talk should go home. They don’t deserve any leadership position."https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001301205/uhuru-my-pick-for-2022-will-shock-you.

But moments after a memorial service for Jane Kiano in St Francis ACK in Karen, Uhuru along with Raila Odinga walked to Ruto's residence for lunch.

Mr Kenyatta would be seen smiling and freely interacting with Ruto and would later sit in a lawn outside the mansion where they discussed a number of issues.

At times, they were pictured laughing often as Ruto took him around the compound, which he uses as offices at times.
