It is probably because of this that Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has invited diners and revelers at his Mua home for a Christmas drinking session.
Sonko resorted to inviting members of the public after his family went away for holidays, leaving him alone.
Taking to Facebook, the governor said it was his time to enjoy alone after spending the day in charity.
"After giving Christmas donations to the less fortunate in society, now it's my turn to enjoy Christmas alone. For those who have been left lonely by their families like me come we enjoy together as we are still alive," said Sonko.
The cameras capture a heavily set bar with expensive liquor.
Also adding to the magnificence of the bar is a set of large TV screens set to entertain the revellers through the night.
