The clubs in the country’s top division leagues can soon move to sign new players and sell out some in a bid to adequately prepare for their respective upcoming tasks.
The teams in the top flight will be able to strengthen their squads when the transfer window opens at the end of this month.
With the 2018/19 season set to start on December 8, teams have minimal time to prepare for the same and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has acted swiftly to ensure a smooth running in terms of new signings.
Gor Mahia have already signed former Tusker FC left-back Shafik Batambuze with Kenneth Muguna also rejoining the team. They will be registered when the window open
A statement on the federation's official portal read, “the transfer window is slated to swing open on October 29, 2018, with the deadline set for January 4, 2019. The mid-season window, meanwhile, will open on March 11, and close on April 8, 2019.”
The 2018/19 transfer window for the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and the National Super League (NSL) therefore will open on Monday 29th October and close on Friday 4th January.
Kenya is streamlining its domestic leagues with the Europe calendar as advised by Confederation of African Football a couple of years ago.
This will ensure international assignments do not affect the running of the league in any country under the world governing body.
