A day after his sacking, former Makadara Member of Parliament Benson Mutura wants former Sports and National Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa investigated.
In an interview on Radio Jambo Saturday, Mutura stressed on the need for the embattled former Minister scanned for possible wrongdoings during his short-lived tenure.
He said that its this way that remaining CSs can be shown that they are not in any way armoured from the law and therefore prevent any involvement in graft.
At the same time, he added, it will prove Uhuru's vows to punish his officials involved in graft and should demonstrate that by giving Echesa over to the investigative institutions.
"Each fired CS should be investigated and those implicated in graft taken to court. Let the president realize his threats. Kenyans want to see convictions and not empty rhetoric," he said.
The ex-parliamentarian was speaking on Mazungumzo Waziwazi show, Saturday morning.
He wondered why not even a single CS has been arraigned in court despite four ministries having been stained with corruption allegations over the past few weeks.
"How is it possible that we are being told that money is being stolen yet no one is being held accountable?" posed the former Jubilee Party parliamentarian.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is yet to come clean on the reasons behind his sacking of Echesa.
