City lawyer Steve Ogolla has criticised Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha over the manner in which he is running the ministry.
Ogolla accused Magoha of arrogance after he threatened to 'crush' anybody who will 'politicise' the implementation of the new education curriculum.
Speaking during the launch of the Competency-Based Curriculum last week, the CS accused the Kenya National Union of Teachers Union (KNUT) under the leadership of Wilson Sossion of being hostile to the new curriculum and vowed not to let the union sabotage its implementation.
"I don't play politics and will crush anybody who will play politics with the new curriculum," he said on Wednesday.
The remarks, however, did not go well with Ogolla who said the CS was 'arrogant', and warned him that he risks failing in his new docket if he does not involve and consult teachers.
"I don't think Prof George Magoha has the monopoly of arrogance the way he'd like us to believe. He'll have to overcome himself before he can attempt the challenges at the Ministry of Education. By common sense alone, we will always support the teachers," the lawyer tweeted on Tuesday.
On his part, Sossion said teachers will not teach the new curriculum until they are properly engaged.
"We are willing to engage with anyone in this country…Until then, we advise our teachers to stop teaching CBC until we engage and guide them accordingly," the KNUT boss said in an interview with Citizen TV, on Tuesday night.
