Members of the church from Gusii region have broken silence after President Uhuru Kenyatta told off Mt Kenya MPs over succession talks.
The clergy led by Kisii Branch Anglican Church of Kenya, ACK Bishop Orina Omangi lauded President Uhuru's stand on succession talks.
"We are expressing our happiness following the Head of State's stand on succession. Mt. Kenya MPs should shun dragging Uhuru into 2022 politics yet his government has the Big 4 Agenda to implement," said the Bishop in Kisii town on Sunday.
The Bishop warned Mt Kenya MPs against party politics saying they should wait until 2022 to play politics.
He called on Gusii leaders to join hands with President Uhuru's regime to bring development in the larg Gusii region.
"The leaders we elected last years should not disappoint us by engaging in divisive politics. As Gusii community we deserve to get access to good roads, affordable healthcare, proper education for our children, food security and this can only be achieved if the leaders work as a team," he added.
Mr. Orina reiterated that party politics won't help in boosting the lives of the electorates but, will only derail development.
