Kiambu County Woman Rep Gathoni wa Muchomba has said women must always respect their men in order to have good families.
Speaking in Nakuru during a requiem mass for the late businessman Henry Mugo Muhunyo at Christ the King Church, the MP said family values cannot be complete without men who are the heads of the family.
“Let me speak again because many a times I speak and people condemn me but I normally speak the truth. A society that has patriarchal order then has order," Muchomba said.
She said women cannot lead families as there will always be issues.
"A scoiety that has matriarchal leadership has issues and those are the issues that some of us as women reps are sorting out every day,” she added.
The MP hit the headlines recently when she called on men to marry more than one wife.
