On Wednesday, the second term governor was detained by the police after eight guns were recovered from his home in Migori and Nairobi.

In her ruling, Gandan said Mr Obado's constitutional rights on bail could not be denied since the prosecution had failed to prove how he would tamper with ongoing probe.

She released him on Sh500, 000 bond, a move that excited hundreds of his supporters who had gathered outside court.

Few minutes past lunchtime on Friday, Obado, in the company of his lawyers and few supporters walked out of Gigiri police station after he was formally cleared.

He maintains that five of the guns recovered in Nairobi belongs to his security team while one pistol was kept in his house by estranged aide Caspal Obiero.

Further, he said, one of the pistol recovered from Migori was confiscated from a thug by his security team couple of months ago.

On Wednesday, he was arrested by detectives after attempting to run away from Hilton Hotel through a taxi at the basement.
