Prior to the 9pm clash, a teacher said, a section of students had asked to administration to grant them permission to watch the match only for principal Maurice Ogutu to deny.

And the source adds, the irked students may have retaliated by cleverly torching the dormitory before vanishing to classes.

"I am sure that the match between Belgium and France caused all this. Students had been pushing to be allowed to watch the match hours before.

"And this could be retaliation. I have done investigations and I can authoritatively ascertain that its students who torched the dormitory," he added.
