Speculations has been rife that Uhuru has camped at the Coast for some days now to reorganise his government with major Cabinet reshuffle said to be in the works.

According to political scientist Daisy Maritim Maina, the President's plans to work with NASA leadership in his looming new administration will highly dent his deputy's ambition to take over power in 2022.

In an opinion piece published by Saturday Standard, Maina said GNU would be an ambush to Ruto and termed him as 'a soldier in a state of war' brought to him by those who do not want him to take up presidency.

The analyst observed it would be 'suicidal' for Ruto in trying to oppose Uhuru's plans since he would be outnumbered and outwitted, in result jeopardising his presidential bid.

"If you pick a battle with the establishment, will you win? It is said that danger comes from trying to surpass our limits. Will going head-on against a coalition of elitist politicians and dynasties surpass your limits? Is it a suicide mission? I think it is. But then again, who knows," she wrote.

Maina advised the DP to embrace his political opponents into the government if Uhuru welcomes them, saying although it will be humiliating, he will gain political mileage for his future endeavours.

"This is the ‘live to fight another day strategy. Here, you will surely lose the battle but ultimately win the war. The battle to be lost is the 2022 presidency; the war to be won is a delayed presidency, perhaps 2032 or even earlier, 2027. This appears to be the only strategy which offers you a chance of survival," wrote the analyst who works at Prof Mutahi Ngunyi’s firm- The Consulting House.
