Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi said locals should not associate themselves with the two political groups whose agenda is selfish.

"As the people of Kisii, we should not be part of the noisemakers. Let us embrace unity, peace and harmony since this is not the time for politics. 'Tanga Tanga' and 'Kieleweke' should not be accommodated in Kisii region," he stated.

He warned local politicians against joining the two groups arguing that their agenda is hidden.

According to Maangi, elected leaders in Kisii County must concentrate on service delivery to the people of Kisii before talking about 2022 elections.

"Elections will come and go but we will still remain. Elected leaders should shun early 2022 politics and put their energy on delivering failure to which development won't be realised in the county," he added.

Maangi assured that he will not talk about 2022 elections because of his responsibilities.

"I do not have time to speak about 2022 succession because I am busy helping Governor Ongwae to work for the people of Kisii," he added.

He was speaking on Saturday at Gusii stadium.
