Ms. Maribe has been at Lang'ata Women prison after being accused of murdering Monica Kimani in September.

Affidavits sworn by the seasoned TV personality shows that she may have decided to walk her own path despite her relationship with Joseph Irungu, the chief suspect on the murder.

"I am a law abiding citizen and I am willing to surrender my passport if need be so that am granted my freedom. I will abide by court direction all the time.

"I am a single mother and my child needs me. I plead that am granted bail as soon as possible," she said in the affidavits.

In June, Maribe unveiled her embattled love of life Joseph Irungu, much to the shock of many Kenyans.

Ms. Maribe seems to have shifted blame to her lover over the murder of Monica Kimani,  adding that Mr. Irungu came to the house during the fateful night saying 'I love you, forgive me', an indication that he may have done something weird.

Justice James Wakiaga, who took over from his colleague Jessie Lessit, will make a ruling over the application of bail on October 24th.
