The incident happened near Clemax apartments at around midnight. A dog which had been barking attracted the attention of the residents who rushed to the scene only to find the lady shouting for help in desperation.

Maryam Akoko, a business lady operating at a Koko Bytez fast food which is located opposite Clemax apartments was among those who were at the scene.

"Our dog was barking at around midnight and so we got out to see what was going on. That is when we found the lady screaming for help," Akoko narrated.

According to the lady who requested for her name to remain anonymous, she was wrestled to the ground by two men before they snatched her phone.

"I was on my way to F2 when two men approached me. One of them was wearing a red hood. When they reached where I was, they pushed me to the ground before snatching my phone," the lady narrated.

Incidences of insecurity at Moi University have been on the rise in the recent weeks. A few weeks ago a lady was also robbed within the same location.
