A NASA allied MP from Kisii has called for a fresh sugar probe.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka said the report which was tabled in Parliament was shoddily done and does not represent the interests of Kenyans.
“The report that was thrown out from Parliament last week was done shallowly. A new team should be formed to conduct sugar probe afresh before tabling the report in Parliament,” he said.
The legislator said MPs do not support corruption at all as has been perceived given that bribery claims have emerged.
According to him, anyone who will be caught engaging in corruption should carry his or her own cross.
“MPs are not supporting corruption as claimed. Whoever who will be caught engaging in corruption should be dealt with in accordance with the law. We must support President Uhuru Kenyatta in the fight against impunity in the country,” he added.
Onyonka warned elected leaders against misusing CDF funds saying the money should be used appropriately to fund various development projects which will boost the livelihoods of the people.
He urged voters not to keep calm and allow politician to embezzle public funds instead of launching projects that will boost livelihoods.
He spoke during an interview with Egesa FM on Tuesday.
