Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has hit out at Garissa Township MP Aden Duale accusing him of allegedly using his office to rubber stamp Jubilee government projects.
Midiwo claims that Duale is being influenced to rubber-stamp laws without putting the interests of Kenyans first.
According to the former ODM MP, Duale and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi have abandoned their roles.
Speaking on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday, Midiwo said that Duale and other top National Assembly leaders let Kenyans down by allowing the Finance Bill 2018 to pass.
Midiwo said that Kenyans have no hope, adding that the people who should be guarding their interests no longer care about them.
"The National Assembly under Muturi's watch is allegedly being controlled by the Executive," the former vocal MP said.
Midiwo said that unless Parliament fights to remain independent, Kenyans should expect more harsh and punitive policies.
Midiwo also hit out at opposition leader Raila Odinga for supporting the Finance Bill 2018.
He said that Raila betrayed his supporters when he declared support for the bill that is now law.
The Finance 2018 Bill that is now law continues to elicit reactions.
A section of MPs has threatened to impeach Duale and Muturi over the Bill.
The MPs also plan to challenge the law in court in case the impeachment plan flops.
