Three terror suspects accused of planning an attack at the Narok Stadium during the Madaraka Day celebrations on Saturday will remain in police custody.
This is after Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ooko on Monday allowed the police to keep the trio in custody for longer, as investigations continue.
Among those arrested was Mr Adan Galhai alias Urisha Galhai who the anti-terror police suspect is a member of the Al Shabab terror group which operates from the neighbouring Somalia.
According to Anti Terror Police Unit Sergeant Geoffrey Busolo, the latter was arrested while attempting to enter the stadium on Friday before escaping and was arrested again on Saturday.
The police believe he was carrying out surveillance for a possible attack, reports the Nation.
The other is Mr Abdulmajed Njenga alias Abdul Aziz, a resident of Kiembeni in Mombasa, who will be held for seven days over similar allegations, and Mr Okan Okali who the police believe is Galhai's associate.
The police have established that Galhai lives in Easleigh in Nairobi and Okan a resident of Mlango Kubwa in the same county and both will be held for ten days to give room for a probe.
