For the second time in as many months, President Uhuru Kenyatta stepped out with Kenya's first female aide-de-camp, Rachel Nduta.
Ms. Nduta, a Lieutenant Colonel in Kenya Air Force, made first appearance in August at Uhuru's function in Nyeri during music festivals.
She is principal assistant to Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Stelu, the president's aide-de-camp, who also became the first to serve in such capacity from Kenya Navy.
At Thika on Wednesday during the opening of M-Pesa Foundation academy, Ms. Nduta made her second appearance in public with the president.
Traditionally, aide-de-camp was selected from among Kenyan Army, with Uhuru dropping Victor Mburu this year after KDF changes that saw him promoted to Colonel.
From among Air Force, Nduta, who takes over from Stelu when circumstances allow, is the first to serve in that capacity.
Recently, Uhuru also promoted Fatuma Ahmed to Major General, the first woman to ever hold such a title in the history of the country.
