There was confusion at a funeral in Bogetenga, South Mugirango, Kisii County after a woman stormed the funeral at disrupted it.
Jemimah Osebe accused the family of the deceased Moses Oroti for sidelining her in the burial plans.
"Oroti and I married in 2009 and we were blessed with 2 kids before we separated in 2013. Until his death he has been supporting our kids. His family has failed to involve me in his burial plans despite me having his kids," said Osebe.
She said were it not for one of the neighbours, Oroti could have been buried without her knowledge.
Osebe, who works in Migori said she was not interested in the deceased wealth but, only wanted the kids be recognized.
"I have no plans to be married again. Let my kids be allowed to bury their deceased father who has been supportive to them," she noted.
An elder Julius Onditi however, faulted the woman for resurfacing after Oroti's death.
"She is just desperate seeking relevance. We will only accept kids but, not her," said Onditi.
A local chief Samson Amenya said the villagers agreed to hold the burial until the matter is solved amicably.
"Oroti's burial was set for Tuesday but, following the latest development the burial won't take place as planned until the matter is solved," said Amenya.
