For the last week, Kenya's political scenes have been rife with comments over Francis Atwoli's vicious attack on Deputy President William Ruto.
This follows utterances by the COTU boss claiming with certainty that the DP's name will not feature in the ballot come 2022 general elections.
The utterances have sparked controversy with several politicians allied to the DP reading malice in the statements.
Kericho Senator Aron Cheruiyot has come out guns blazing, claiming Atwoli was planning to eliminate Ruto before the next electioneering period.
In a video that has since gone viral, Senator Cheruiyot can be heard commenting about the late Muchai who was involved in supremacy battles with Atwoli before being assassinated days later by unknown people.
"...Atwoli said in Mombasa that by 2022 Ruto will not be in the ballot. My question to him is that at one time there was a gentleman by the name Muchai who was your competitor. You went ahead and issued the same sentiments and after sometime, he was murdered in cold blood. We now ask are you planning to kill the DP before 2022?" asked the senator in the trending video.
In light of the comments, Atwoli should now clearly explain what he meant by the utterances that Ruto will be in the presidential ballot come 2022.
